What is House Building Construction Stages ?

What is House Building Construction Stages?

When you will start building, you will be anxious and want to know whats happening every single day. If you are living quite far away from the construction site then it will be even more stressful. Especially because the site supervisor is not really required to give you minute by minute update. Now this in itself is a challenge and then how the construction is going is another. Therefore, it is necessary that anyone who is building to cover your back. Yes, what i mean is to engage an expert who will inspect your site on 4 major milestones. Someone, who is not the builder but a third party so that the inspection is unbiased.

Construction Begins - Stage 1 Slab Stage

Most people want to inspect and do a walkthrough every chance they get. Due to safety law in place most builders will not let the owner visit the site when they are not present. Therefore, prior approval is required. Which means every time you want to visit just call the site supervisor that you will be visiting the site and if he is in a good mood I am sure he/she will let you visit.

Now, even if you visit before the Slab has been poured how would you know if all is well. Is the area been prepared according to the standards.

This is the time where you would need extra help to get someone to inspect the place and give you details.

Some of the things you can find during this stage are as follows. This is not an exhaustive list but covers some of the common flaws that can be picked up during this stage.

The ground levels are checked which is quite important if you want that your fixtures, tiles and other floor coverings sit properly on a levelled slab. If the concrete has been poured as it was in our case, the site supervisor didn't inform us when it would be done but i can imagine them being busy so i had to send the building inspector after the slab was poured.

The picture above is the ground work of my house. I was super excited to see and couldn't see any major defects which is good. I call myself a bit of a perfectionist, i want to be sure that things therefore engaged someone to do an inspection. Ideally it should be before the pouring but it took me some time to find a person who would do the job as per my requirement.
